Open Classes Schedule Revisions and Updates

 

  • Choreography Workshop with Alonzo King, Artistic Director of Lines Contemporary Ballet! Saturday, May 17, 1 - 3 pm. This workshop is $25 in advance, $30 at the door.

     

  • Saturday, May 17, 10:45 am Pilates will be taught by Francisco Avellan.

     

  • Saturday, May 17, 11:45 am Advanced Ballet will not be held. Instead, a special warm-up ballet class will be held from 12:00 - 12:45 pm to prepare for the Alonzo King workshop at 1 pm. This warm-up class will be taught by Yan Zhang and will cost $5.

     

  • Sunday, May 18, 9:30 am Advanced Ballet and 11:15 Pointe will be taught by Shannon Chain.

     

  • NEW! Beginning Pointe Class! Saturdays, 12:30 - 1 pm, Studio 3, $10/class

     

  • NEW! Variations Class with Linda Rickert! 4 Tuesdays, 8 - 9 pm, $15/class or $50/4 classes

     

  • Monday & Wednesday, May 26 & 28, Advanced Ballet will be taught by Guest Artist, Paul Thrussell, Principal Dancer with Ballet Gamonet and former Boston Ballet Principal. Paul danced the Cavalier in our 2007 Nutcracker and returns to dance in Tchaikovsky Suite and Esmeralda Pas de Deux in Western Ballet's June 2nd performance at Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts.

     

  • Western Ballet Modern Dance Teacher Raissa Simpson's Push Dance Company recently finished a series of performances in San Francisco with excellent reviews. Read the Dancer Magazine Review, and see a Video. Visit the web site for more information on Push.

     

  • Monday, Tuesday, & Thursday, 10 am Int/Advanced Ballet are taught by Rodolphe Cassand. Mr. Cassand has danced with San Francisco Ballet, Smuin Ballet, and Lines Ballet.

     

  • Thursday evening Modern class will be taught by Raissa Simpson beginning 1/17 for the next 6 months during Mara Williams' absence

     

     

  • SUMMER MASTER CLASSES! Former Pacific Northwest Ballet Principal, Patricia Barker, will be teaching Master Classes on Monday, 7/21, and Wednesday, 7/23, in Studio 1 at Western Ballet. Former Miami City Ballet Principal, Iliana Lopez, will be teaching a Master Class during the week of 8/5. The exact date will be announced later.
