Friday,July 23rd, 2010 @ 8 PM Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts Under Artistic Director Alexi Zubiría, Western Ballet Company presents "Danzon" on July 23, 2010, at the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts. Western Ballet's "Danzon" is classical ballet at its best, danced to the stirring rhythms, expressive style, and captivating energy of musical classics from Zubiría's heritage. Famous orchestral pieces by Latin American composers, such as Teresa Carreño (Venezuela), Arturo Marquez (Mexico) and Astor Piazzolla (Argentina), form a passionate backdrop to ballet choreographed by Latin Americans, including the renowned Venezuelan Vicente Nebrada, Yanis Pikieris and director Zubiría.
